Environmental Stewardship

Two Rivers Utilities Wastewater Resources division was the first publicly owned wastewaterutility in North Carolins, and the third in the country, to receive ISO 14001 certification. The certification was received in 2001 and has been maintained since that time. TRU has since been firther recognized by the North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources as an Environmental Steward. Based on a Plan-Do-Check-Act model, the Utilities' management system recognizes the importance of continual improvement and is committed to the concept of minimizing negative impacts and maximizing positive impacts on the environment.
